Good to know

  • Most museums require advance booking — especially the Anne Frank House and Rijksmuseum
  • The Amsterdam City Card covers most museums and all public transport for 1–5 days
  • Albert Cuypmarkt runs Monday to Saturday; Noordermarkt is Saturday only
  • Most coffee shops open around 10:00 and close by midnight
  • Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory — rounding up is the local norm
